Xerox has grown far beyond its printing roots. Today, it offers smart workplace solutions that combine technology, automation, and managed services to help organizations work more efficiently and securely. In recent years, Xerox has expanded its IT and cybersecurity offerings through acquisitions like ITsavvy and Lexmark and partnerships with leading IT providers.
As part of this expansion, Xerox is teaming up with Guardey to make security awareness training engaging and continuous.
From printers to protection
“Xerox devices and solutions are at the heart of our clients’ networks,” said Peter Veldhuysen, Marketing Manager at Xerox. “That naturally leads us into security conversations. Once you start talking about Zero Trust Printing, it’s only a small step toward offering a comprehensive IT and cybersecurity portfolio.”
Today, Xerox provides a broad portfolio of workplace solutions and IT services ranging from endpoint delivery and infrastructure solutions to vulnerability scanning and cybersecurity awareness. The addition of Guardey completes a key part of that picture by helping clients address the human side of cybersecurity.
Why awareness matters
“You can have the best security technology in place, but if an employee clicks on a malicious link, the risk remains,” said John Loohuis, Account Manager at Xerox. “Many organizations realize this only after an incident. That’s why continuous awareness training is so important, not just a one-time phishing test or onboarding moment.”
Traditional awareness tools, Xerox found, often fell short: too static, too generic, and not always tailored to local markets. Guardey’s approach, using gamification, short weekly missions, and friendly competition, immediately stood out as a more dynamic, people-focused alternative.

“Guardey helps organizations maintain a learning curve throughout the year,” Loohuis added. “It’s an effective and accessible way to keep employees engaged and aware of their responsibilities when it comes to IT security.”
A natural fit for Xerox clients
With Guardey, Xerox customers will gain access to a broader cybersecurity portfolio that covers all three essential layers: people, machines, and systems. As Rick Reijers, Business Development Manager IT at Xerox, explained, “We want to help clients achieve a stable, secure situation across all fronts. Guardey fills the human risk gap perfectly, while we can support the technical side with our other IT services.”
The partnership will make it easier for Xerox account managers to introduce security awareness as part of a holistic IT offering, particularly for SMB and mid-market clients looking for scalable, ready-to-deploy solutions.
Collaboration built on flexibility
What stood out most to Xerox was Guardey’s responsiveness and flexibility during the partnership process. “We had several feature requests early on, like AI phishing simulations and mobile accessibility,” said Reijers. “Within a few months, those updates were already live. Even small improvements, like text adjustments or link behavior, were quickly implemented. That kind of agility makes a real difference.”
Guardey’s view: building the human firewall together
“I’ve known Xerox since I was a kid — a brand that’s always stood for reliability and innovation,” said Joeri van de Watering, CEO of Guardey. “It’s inspiring to see how they’ve evolved from the traditional printing world into a leader in IT and cybersecurity. For us at Guardey, it’s a great match: we both believe that technology alone isn’t enough. True security starts with people.”
“Through this partnership, we’re combining Xerox’s technical expertise and trusted client relationships with Guardey’s mission to make cybersecurity awareness engaging and continuous. Together, we’re helping organizations not only protect their systems but also build a strong security culture — one that lasts all year round.”
Looking ahead
For Xerox, the goal over the coming year is clear: make Guardey an easy, low-threshold solution that account managers can confidently introduce to clients as part of a modern IT and security package. “It’s a hot topic with every customer right now,” said Loohuis. “Guardey gives us a great, accessible entry point to start those conversations.”
As Veldhuysen concluded, “We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Every client needs a security approach that fits their situation depending on company size and culture. For many, Guardey will be that perfect piece of the puzzle.”
The Guardey products and services are available immediately through the Xerox and Veenman sales channels.
